Measurable management of local information

For a municipality or destination, Geo Index KAM provides more measurable management of local information: which routes people view most often, which points they use, where they enter the system and where they go next. Its key advantage is a shared data structure with clearly assigned data owners and a single reliable source of information, reducing duplication and improving cooperation between the municipality, tourist information centre (TIC), service providers and public services.

The system does not replace official websites. Instead, it links content published by municipalities, public institutes and event organisers to relevant locations and returns visitors to the official source with a single click.

Communication between stakeholders

Communication flows are an important part of the system. Municipalities can share development priorities, calls for proposals and opportunities with service providers; providers can submit initiatives and practical suggestions from the field; and visitors and residents reveal through their use of the system which information genuinely interests them.

A low-risk first step: a pilot

The project can begin with a small area: a single route, a group of service providers, public points of interest, a cemetery, an event venue or a tourism area. A pilot does not require replacing the existing website or abandoning Google Maps. The investment is in the region of a few thousand euros, with introductory terms available to the first municipalities. Any subsequent expansion is agreed according to scope.

Smaller municipalities are often ideal users of such a system: they hold a wealth of high-quality information but do not have large IT teams to coordinate it continuously. RR provides the platform, infrastructure, maps, geo-points, analytics, support and maintenance, while local partners keep the content current and engaging.

Data framework

Geo Index KAM runs on servers in Slovenia, and usage analytics are also processed on our own infrastructure rather than by global providers. Standardised point descriptions with clearly assigned data owners also prepare the data for future use by AI assistants and advanced analytics.

Case study: the Savinjska regional platform

Geo Index KAM has been in production on the Savinjska regional platform (kupujlokalno.si) since September 2023. It includes more than 900 geo-points, more than 400 service providers, digitised routes with GPX tracks, and QR entry points in the field. The platform has recorded more than 94,000 visits since launch, while traffic grew by 122 percent between 2024 and 2025. All figures can be publicly verified on the Geo Index KAM page, where they are presented through live analytics.

Indicative investment: a pilot from 3,300 € (up to 50 points, up to 10 QR locations, delivered within 30 days). The value of a pilot generally allows it to be commissioned through a simplified low-value procurement procedure, without a complex tender. Services and pricing
